If you are looking for a hobby that is challenging, rewarding and damn good fun. Then you may wish to try your hand at re-enactment and join the Earl of Loudoun's Regiment of Foote.
You are cordially invited (if you have the inclination to sample the delights of seventeenth century life: from a period banquet to assaulting enemy fortifications) to become a member and serve in the Earl of Loudoun's Regiment of Foote.
The regiment is run on a committee basis with members elected by their fellows, as are the officers of the regiment. Loudoun's has its own regimental newsletter, 'The Clarion', which will be issued to members throughout the year, to which anyone may contribute. (Please do - new articles are always required.) Additionally members will receive, as members of the Roundhead Association, the Parliament Scoute, the RA members journal 2/3 times per year. The regiment organises as well as public events such things as social/private events like the annual banquet.
See below for fees and forms.
Also, if you simply want a meet and greet before committing then we can be found every second Thursday, or so, in The Vault, in the Counting House, George Square, Glasgow.
Maybe the best way to digest how the membership works and what you get from it is to drop us a message with all the questions you have....
If you wish to take the field then you must pay an appropriate fee in order to comply with the insurance regulations. Each year you will have to join both the ECWS (via the Roundhead Association) and Loudoun's, and pay the respective annual fees (set by each organisation). Membership is annual running from 1st April to 31st March the following year.
Current fees are:
Loudoun's Regiment
£15.00 per Individual or £20 per Household (Single Clarion)
Roundhead Association
£20.00 (Single person over the age of 16 years)
Concession: £15.00 (Single person as above, unwaged) or
Family £30.00 (covers 2 adults and any other members under the age of 18 living at the same address)
If you are interested in joining please download each of the membership forms below, print and complete. With two cheques (one made out to the 'Roundhead Association', the other to the 'Earl of Loudoun's Regiment') for the appropriate fees, post to our Agitant at the address below. Otherwise do not hesitate to contact us if you have any prior queries.
